Anyone holding an in date First aid at Work (3 day). You can recertify up to 3 months before expiry, and up to 28 days after. After 28 days you will need to attend the full course.
It is recommended that low risk businesses responsible for over 100 people have at least two people certified in first aid at work.
Workers in high risk industries should all complete training at this level. This includes the following:
- Events & Hospitality
- Warehouses operating machinery
- Commercial catering and kitchens
What is required to manage a situation where a casualty is bleeding, ill, unconscious, injured or not breathing. We cover the following:
- Duty of care and responsibilities
- RIDDOR & accident reporting
- Primary & Secondary Survey
- Injury & Bleed Sweeps
- C.P.R for adults, children & babies
- Bleeds and shock management
- Anaphylaxis and Epi-Pen usage
- Spinal and head injuries
- Major illnesses
- First Aid Kits
- Includes Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
Upon successful completion of the First Aid at Work course, you will receive an accredited certificate + e-copy. Valid for three years and meets government guidelines and required learning hours.
At the end of the course, candidates will leave with refreshed skills giving the necessary confidence and skills to deal with an accident or illness, at home, work, or leisure. Staff members will meet the requirements for the high risk workplace and will be able to deliver first aid effectively.
The 3 training days will focus on a vital set of lifesaving skills. The instructor will demonstrate the practical elements, students will role play scenarios with a lot of time spent practicing. There will be short presentations to introduce modules, don't worry, there is no PowerPoint!
