Frequently Asked Questions

Hello, we get a lot of questions about our courses - hopefully this helps you out, if not please get in touch!

How long is the certificate valid for?

 - Your certificate and ID card is valid for 3 years from the date you pass the course - this will be the last day of the course.

Is there an exam on the course?

 - No, you will be continually assessed throughout the course, Individual practical assessments, questions & feedback are given at the end of every course.

What do I need to bring on my course?

- As a minimum we recommend comfortable clothes which you are happy to do practical indoor scenarios with - not high heels for example! For outdoor courses, it depends on your course type as to what you will be doing - but a good recommendation is to bring full clothing suitable for wet weather use & appropriate footwear for the outdoors. Put it this way, it is better to have this equipment and not need it, rather than need it and not have it. If you do not have such equipment you can hire it from us.
Bring a pen & paper & reusable coffee cup!

Will my NGB Accept this first aid?

Yes. All outdoor related national governing bodies who require first aid to validate their coaching tickets have been contacted and should accept your qualification. If you have any trouble with this, please contact us right away.

What makes it 'Whitewater'/'Mountain' Specific?

These courses have been designed by experienced professionals in these fields. So we focus more on injuries and illness's common to these activities. We will also actually go outside and actually practice this first aid, in gear, in the environment you might need it in one day.

Where is a good place to stay? (For courses in Bala, Wales, UK)

- We recommend staying at Tyn Cornel they offer great facilities and are only a 5 min walk up the river to your classroom!
